The employees of the preschool education institutions of Causeni will receive the overdue salaries for the first two months of the year. The Government will allocate 1.147 million lei from its reserve fund to the Causeni mayor’s office for paying salaries, IPN reports, quoting a decision approved by the executive.

The salaries couldn’t be paid because the accounts of the Causeni local authorities were blocked based on a court decision. The mayor’s office was sued because it didn’t provide apartments to the president of the Causeni court and to a judge that now no longer holds the post.

Similar cases happen in other districts. Some of the judges, even if they have dwellings, ask for plots on which to build houses from mayor’s offices. Prime Minister Iurie Leanca asked the minister of justice and the director of the National Anticorruption Center to examine the situation so as to avoid the blocking of the accounts of other mayor’s offices.
