Entrance to Palace of Republic splashed with holy water

The Union of Left Forces Thursday protested against the bill on guaranteeing of equality. The protesters were joined by the Bishop of Balti and Falesti Marchel, who splashed the entrance to the Palace of the Republic, where the MPs hold sittings, with holy water, Info-Prim Neo reports. Bishop Marchel said he brought holy water in order to clear the minds of the lawmakers. The chairman of the Social Democratic Party Victor Shelin stated the given bill recognizes homosexuality as a norm and a value for Moldova, while the MPs try to impose it on the people. By passing this bill, the ruling alliance will accept the embarrassing conditions imposed by the West. The party’s secretary Sergiu Coropceanu said the bill contains many things about which the people do not know and, if this law is adopted, Moldova risks losing its future generations. The leader of the Socialist People’s Party Victor Stepaniuc said the adoption of the draft law on guaranteeing of equality will represent a blow to the ordinary people, the traditions and the Church. The bill on guaranteeing of equality was approved by the Government on May 23 and is to be debated in Parliament on May 25.
