The EU has recognized the Covid certificates issued in Moldova, announced foreign minister Nicu Popescu.
“Today the European Commission adopted the decision to equate our national COVID-19 certificates with those in the European Union’s digital certification system. This means that, as of November 16, Moldovan certificates will be treated equally with those issued in the EU”, Nicu Popescu posted on Facebook.
The decision covers all subtypes of the certificate issued in Moldova: vaccination, recovery and testing.
“The national COVID-19 digital certificate will facilitate free movement in the member states of the European Union in safe conditions during the pandemic”, said Popescu, adding that travel still remains subject to specific restrictions adopted by each nation separately.
Popescu encouraged the public to follow the Ministry’s advisories to be up to date with pandemic travel restrictions abroad.
Minister Popescu is currently visiting Brussels, where he has participated in a foreign ministers’ meeting ahead of the Eastern Partnership summit in December.
