Moldova’s representative at Eurovision 2013 will be selected on March 16. The national final will be preceded by two semifinals, on March 12 and 14. As many as 24 singers and 60 songs will compete in the contest. Eurovision Moldova director Vitalie Cojocaru has told Info-Prim Neo that the national selection 2013 will be based on a parallel contest of singers and songs. This means that the jury will choose the best singer who will sing the best song. The condition for participating in the contest is that the authors of the songs should agree to allow the national selection finalist to sing the song. The arrangement and text of the song will be modified depending on the singer, but the melody will remain the same. Last year, Moldova was represented at Eurovision by Pasha Parfeni, who ranked 11th. This year the contest will take place in Malmo, Sweden.
