The former director of a nursery school of Balti municipality was sentenced to six years in jail for swindle. The court also obliged the culprit to pay damages, IPN reports.

The Balti Prosecutor’s Office established that in 2011 – 2014, she falsified the data of two former employees and, possessing the bank cards of these, received their salaries. This way the director caused damage to the state budget estimated at over 64,000 lei.

In the same period, the woman forced several educators to illegally collect money from parents on the pretext of needing to perform repair works at the nursery, appropriating about 1,200 lei. In another situation, she borrowed over 60,000 lei from five persons on different pretexts and didn’t pay it back.

The sentence can be appealed to a higher court.
