Executive allocates 4.5m lei for training Olympic squad

The Government has earmarked 4.5 lei from its reserve fund for training Moldova’s Olympic squad for the 30th Summer Olympic Games and the 14th Paralympics Games that will take place in London next year, Info-Prim Neo reports. The national squad will consist of 50 persons, 25-30 of whom athletes, while the rest coaches, doctors, technical masseurs and team managers. Moldova will compete in such events as athletics, wrestling, table tennis, judo, swimming, taekwondo, boxing, weightlifting, kayak-canoe, and target shooting. The money will go on pre-competition training, medical assistance for the sportspersons, dope tests and equipment for the Olympic team. A part of the money will be used to produce materials to promote Moldova at the Olympic Games.
