Painter Alexandru Placinta staged an exhibition of caricatures of personalities from Moldova and other countries. The exhibition mounted in the Parliament Square includes 30 works made in recent years, IPN reports.
Alexandru Placinta, who is from Ungheni, is known for the originality of his works made in humorous style. Among the protagonists are politicians, people of culture and art and other public figures.
The caricaturist’s works were earlier exhibited in Strasbourg, at the Council of Europe. The caricatures form part of personal collections around the world and the author was conferred numerous awards.
Also, in connection with its 33rd anniversary, Parliament inaugurated the exhibition “Building of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova through the objective of time”. It contains images of the edifice from its designing in 1973 until now.
The photos are part of collections of the National Archives Agency and the State Information Agency Moldpres and are on display in the Parliament Square on Thursday.
