A 39-year-old man was injured in an explosion that shook an apartment located on the ninth floor on Albisoara Street in Chisinau. The explosion happened when the man lit a cigarette in the kitchen on April 13 in the evening. Anatol Proca, coordinating doctor at the Chisinau Ambulance Service, has told Info-Prim Neo that the man received first- and second-degree burns on the face and hands. He was taken to the National Center of Thermal Injuries. The windows of the apartments broke up. Contacted by Info-Prim Neo, Sergiu Chircu, of the Rescuers and Firefighters Division, told the Agency that the cause of the explosion has not been yet established. Investigators of the Rescuers and Firefighters Division and representatives of the company Moldova-Gaz work on the scene. They ruled out a gas leak. Sergiu Chircu also said that the explosion couldn't have been caused by an inflammable liquid like gasoline. The investigations go on.
