Farmers can file applications for state subsidies

The farmers can submit applications to benefit from state subsidies between August 5 and October 31, 2016, IPN reports.

The measures to support the farmers in the course of the subsidization year 2016 include investment in peasant farmsteads to help them restructure and adjust themselves to the EU standards and in the processing and sale of agricultural products, implementation of ecological measures in agriculture, improvement and development of agricultural infrastructure and consultancy services and training.

As during the previous years, about 4,000 applications are expected. “This year the subsidies will be allocated especially for rural and infrastructure development. A rather large sum will be allocated to the animal-breeding sector and, respectively, for traditional measures,” stated Minister of Agriculture Eduard Grama.

The Agency for Interventions and Payments in Agriculture will accept applications by October 31 this year. According to the Agency’s acting director Nicolae Ciubuc, the preliminary checks will be performed within 10 working days of the registration of the application.

The file for obtaining subsidies must contain a standard application, the copy of the registration certificate, the business plan for at least five years, the certificate showing that the farmers does not have debts to the state and local budgets, etc. The agriculture subsidization fund this year is 900 million lei, but almost half of the money will go to pay the overdue subsidies for last year.
