Father and son killed in fire in Leuseni village
An 84-year-old man and his son aged 44 died in a house fire, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to press officer of the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service Dorina Sochirca, the fire happened on in the evening of September 14 in Leuseni village of Hancesti district.
“The firefighting teams of Hancesti intervened and extinguished the fire, but the flames managed to destroy a room and the roof of the house. Two bodies were found in the ruins – of the house owner and his son,” said Dorina Sochirca. Most probably, the fire was caused by a smoldering cigarette.
Mayor of Leuseni Ion Dragan has told Info-Prim Neo that the men lived alone. “They probably drank some wine in the evening and closed all the doors and windows before going to sleep. A boy saw smoke coming out and told his parents. The firefighters were on the spot immediately, but the fire caused victims. Most likely, they died from carbon monoxide poisoning,” said the mayor.
He added the funeral will be organized by the other sons of the man.
