A woman held in penitentiary No. 13 in Chisinau claims she was forced by an employee of the institution to have sex with him and then she had a miscarriage, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to the woman’s lawyer, the guard said he will allow the woman to have private meetings with a detainee of the same penitentiary if she agreed to have sex with him. “When Tatiana Cantar realized that she was pregnant, the administration decided to transfer her to penitentiary No. 7 in Rusca, where she was given a pill that caused internal hemorrhage and abdominal pain. As a result, she had a miscarriage,” said lawyer Doina-Ioana Straisteanu. The woman complained that she did not receive medical care during two weeks and was taken to penitentiary No. 16 in Pruncul for medical treatment only after she threatened she will commit suicide. When she returned to penitentiary No. 13 in Chisinau, she was threatened by the institution’s employee with whom she had sex not to reveal his name and denounce him to the internal security service. Contacted by Info-Prim Neo, the head of the press service of the Department of Penitentiary Institutions Ana Druta said the given information is not true.
