Tudor Tataru was found dead in his film studio “Buciumul” in Chisinau in the morning of March 27. He was discovered by a colleague of his at 06.20, spokesman for the National Emergency Medicine Center Petru Cravet has told IPN.

The cause of death is yet to be established. Allegedly, the artist suffered a heart attack. On April 1, he would have turned 56.

Tudor Tataru was born in Pojareni, Ialoveni. In 1986 he graduated from the Chisinau Institute of Arts, the Faculty of Stage Management. In1987-8199, he had attended upper courses in film direction in Moscow. Between 1989 and 1992, he had worked as director at “Moldova-film” studio. In 1992, he founded the independent studio of comedy and folklore films “Buciumul”, which in 1996 started to be patronized by Chisinau municipality.
