The leader of the Association “Moldova Mea” Fiodor Ghelici said that a bailiff who was recently convicted for keeping drugs continues to work and even left ex-minister of security Anatol Plugaru without pension for a period of three months. In a news conference at IPN, the two said that this is not a single case. The employees of the National Union of Bailiffs include persons with a criminal record. He urged the people who suffered as a result of the illegalities of bailiffs to communicate the cases to the Association’s email address moldova-mea@mail.ru.
Fiodor Ghelici said the bailiff who deprived Anatol Plugaru of pension was investigated within a number of criminal cases and was convicted of drug keeping. However, he obtained a license to work as a bailiff from the Ministry of Justice. “At the Prosecutor’s Office, they told me that the bailiff was a druggist and was convicted for keeping drugs. I wonder how this man could get a license. What kind of justice sector reform do we have?” he asked.
The activist added he never thought that the bailiffs could come into his focus. “I discovered a body – the National Union of Bailiffs. According to the information obtained from a prosecutor, this union is more criminal than the mafia bodies. A person with correct life principles practically cannot enter this union,” said the Association’s leader.
Fiodor Ghelici said he will collect information about this case and will send it to the UN and the ECHR. “These functionaries must represent the elite of this society and must have a spotless reputation and a past without problems. We will also inform the Government and the Prosecutor’s Office to examine the National Union of Bailiffs. I call on the people to inform us if they have problems with bailiffs and we will investigate the situation and will even prepare a lawsuit against the Government because this supports the creation of such criminal bodies,” he stated.
Anatol Plugaru told the same news conference that he is a pensioner deprived of pension, but he will cope. However, he cannot imagine what a ‘poor elderly man’ for whom the pension in his only source of livelihood can do in such a situation. The ex-minister noted that thousands of pensioners are wronged by bailiffs and by the government that allows depriving these of their only incomes.
