A fire started in a storehouse at the Hârbovăț Monastery in Călărași district on March 11. Firefighters managed to localize the fire in over two hours. The monastery’s building wasn’t affected by the flames, IPN reports.

According to the General Inspectorate for Emergencies, the call to the 112 Service was made close to midday. When at the scene, the firemen saw an auxiliary building with wood, grains and other things inside burning. The fire was localized at 2:10pm. The flames destroyed 50% of the building and things inside this.

Teams of rescuers and firefighters are struggling to extinguish the fire. No one was hurt.
