On Friday evening, the fans of the Romanian rock music had the chance to see Gandul Matei perform a marvellous concert. The renowned Moldovan band had launched their third album entitled “In profil” (“In Profile”) on the scene of the Ginta Latina Centre of culture and Art, providing their fans with lots of quality music.
Gandul Matei used their time and creativity to express themselves in new musical forms, launching the first Moldovan acoustic album. The band surprised their fans with a particular show, involving 14 musicians.
Violins, panpipes and percussion gave a new flavour to the bands music, providing a great musical experience for the audience. The concert also featured Jonny Alici (guitar), Stefan Negura (panpipe), Arterciuc Daria, Buinovski Vadim, Dodon Oxana, Ghenciu Ana (violin), Trofimov Ana (alto), Krylov Tatiana – violoncello. The well-known lyrics were accompanied by bossa-nova, ethno, jazz and funk, giving a new hearing to the old songs.
According to Gandul Matei’s lead vocals, Nicu Tarna, the songs combine the idea of love and liberty with condemnation of pain and suffering. The fans say that the new album shows the maturity of the band.
Nicu Tarna also announced about another forthcoming album Grandomania, which is to be released at the end of the year, bearing a powerful social message.
