First ethno-tourism festival in Iurceni village

The village of Iurceni, Nisporeni district, hosted the first ethno-tourism festival as part of the a project called “The Development of the Tourism Routes in the Nisporeni-Prut Trans-Border Area.” The festival called “At the Big Fountain of Iurceni” was joined by ensembles of amateur folk singers from Nisporeni, Ungheni, Hancesti, Straseni, Stefan Voda and Drochia districts, Info-Prim Neo reports. The ensembles sang songs on the topic: “Visiting the Moldovans.” The program included a Moldovan cuisine contest, a humor and jokes contest and a contest for youth and children. The festival pursues to promote new tourism destinations and the local folk traditions in order to attract tourists and visitors, the organizers say in a press release. Two exhibitions were varnished: of handicraftsmen and of farmers. The event ended in a recital by the folk singers Zinaida Julea and Nicolae Glib. The project “The Development of the Tourism Routes in the Nisporeni-Prut Trans-Border Area” is financed by the European Union through a Romania-Moldova Neighborhood Program.
