The Florești district hospital was equipped with modern anesthesia machines and systems that enable to ensure swift communication between patients and medical personnel. The equipment was purchased within a project designed by the Ministry of Health, which was financed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Romania through Romania’s International Development Cooperation Agency (RoAid), IPN reports.
According to the Ministry of Health, the institution didn’t have enough anesthesia machines for performing all the planned and urgent surgeries. Now the quality of medical assistance during surgery will improve considerably. Also, more patients will be operated so that their state of health does not worsen.
As many as 1,500 surgeries that involve general anesthesia are annually performed at the Florești District Hospital. With the new state-of-the-art equipment, doctors plan to increase the number of surgeries to 2,200.
With financial support from the Government of Romania, systems that facilitate communications between patients and medical personnel and contribute to providing care during the shortest period of time were set up in four sections of the hospital – general surgery, orthopedics and traumatology, neurology, and general therapy.
The total budget of the project is 2 million lei.
