Football stadium with 20,000-25,000 seats to be built in Moldova

The Republic of Moldova will have a new football stadium with a capacity of 20,000-25,000 seats. It will be built according to the standards of the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA), Prime Minister Dorin Recean stated during a visit to the Training Center for Moldova’s national teams situated in Vadul lui Vodă, IPN reports.

The head of the Government said that after the Moldovan Football Federation carried out a pre-feasibility study, the state, through the Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development and the Ministry of Education and Research, will start to conduct a feasibility study, develop the project of the future arena and provide a lot for the construction. The works will last no more than five years.

Premier Recean toured the Training Center, talked to footballers, coaches and the managers of the Moldovan Football Federation. The sports complex in Vadul lui Vodă was opened in 2002, with the support of UEFA and the International Football Federation. It is located on an area of 6 hectares and has modern infrastructure for training, medical rehabilitation and physical recovery of sportspersons.
