Foreign Ministry condemns Quebec mosque shooting

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration condemns the January 29 armed attack in Canada’s Quebec that resulted in at least six deaths and eight persons hurt, IPN reports, quoting a press release of the Ministry.

According to the Ministry, gunmen opened fire at Quebec City Islamic Cultural Center. “Such deplorable acts of violence deserve to be combated at all costs. The Ministry expresses its solidarity with the Canadian authority, profound regret at the loss of human lives, compassion for the grieving families and speedy recovery for the victims of this armed attack,” said the Ministry.

It reiterates Moldova’s firm commitment to combat all forms of terrorism and reaffirms the necessity of combining forces and stepping up international efforts to prevent these.

According to foreign press reports, two men opened fire in the mosque in Quebec City in southeastern Canada during evening prayers. Six persons were killed and eight were injured.
