Forests won’t be rented for recreation and hunting anymore
Moldsilva Agency suspended the process of renting out forests administered by the institution. A decision in this regard was taken by the Commission for monitoring, coordination and methodological guidance for the development of the inter-managerial control system, Info-Prim Neo reports.
According to a press release from the institution, the tender for renting out rights for the forest fund in purposes of recreation and hunting, has been suspended for an indefinite period of time.
Moldsilva initiated a process of operating changes and amendments to the Regulation on the rent of the forest fund, and until it is adopted, signing other contracts is deemed inopportune, considering that the specific rights and obligations of the sides signing the lease contract aren’t fully specified. Another reason for suspending the rent of forests is the recent rise in the number of violations of the forest regime.
Moldsilva has signed 807 contracts, renting out 11,531 ha of forest, which is 4.1% of the forest fund managed by Moldsilva. 740 of these contracts are for recreation, spanning over 2461 hectares, and 67 contracts are for hunting, occupying a surface of 9070 hectares.
