Former employees of state institutions responsible for ensuring border security were brought to justice. They are accused of recruiting persons from countries of the Near East and of transporting them though an international clandestine transit corridor, IPN reports.

According to a communiqué of the Security and Information Service, during investigations it was established that the members of the network provided transit services for persons from the Near East along the Turkey – Ukraine – Moldova route, with the EU being the final destination.

For the transit services, the group asked for US$5,000 from a person. The suspects stand trial.
