The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration proposed recalling four ambassadors of Moldova even if the terms in office of these didn’t expire, IPN reports.
The proposal refers to Ambassador to Lithuania Valeriu Frija, Ambassador to the U.S. Aurel Ciocoi, Ambassador to the Netherlands Emilian Brenici, and Ambassador to Belgium and Luxemburg Iurie Renita.
After the Cabinet’s meeting, Minister Andrei Galbur said Emilian Brenici is recalled because he is completing his duties. Aurel Ciocoi is recalled based on his resignation. “As regards Ambassadors Frija and Renita, these were named to posts based on political criteria and we intend to replace them with representatives of the diplomatic service - professionals who will continue to promote the priorities in these capitals in accordance with the measures stipulated in the government program,” stated the minister.
Under the legislation, the relevant decrees are to be signed by the Head of State.
