Four border crossing points on the Moldovan-Ukrainian frontier continue to be blocked owing to the unfavorable weather conditions. These are: Cosauti-Iampoli, Soroca-Ţekinovka, Larga-Kelmenti, and Medveja-Zelionaya. The local authorities said that despite the bad weather, the situation in the northern districts of Moldova is under control.

Raisa Novitski, press officer of the Border Police, has told IPN that the people heading for the four border crossing points are directed to other points in the same direction. It’s not known yet when the four points will resume work.
 

Contacted by IPN, deputy head of Ocnita district Stanislav Barac said that the temperatures in northern Moldova are still low, while the layer of snow is about 15 centimeters. The roads were cleaned and are passable. No difficulties have been experienced yet.
