The National Anticorruption Center started four criminal cases over abuse of power against the Ministry of Transport and Road Infrastructure. The announcement was made by the Center’s director Viorel Chetraru in the February 22 sitting of Parliament, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Viorel Chetraru said there will be investigated the illegal privatization of buildings, the signing of the cooperation agreement with the Romanian plant that renovates the trains, and the repair of four sections of national roads. No functionary of the Ministry has been yet accused.
In another development, Viorel Chetraru said the National Anticorruption Center, in concert with the Prosecutor General’s Office, took legal action over wiretapping following the dissemination of recordings of phone conversation by the media. An investigation is under way.
