Four men die from carbon monoxide poisoning
Four men were killed in house fires yesterday and last night, Emergencies Service spokeswoman Dorina Cruc has told Info-Prim Neo.
A 54-year-old man from a village of Floresti district died in a fire caused by a faulty stove. The same day, a man aged 50 died from carbon monoxide poisoning in a village of Cantemir district. Smoldering cigarettes caused another two fires that killed a man of 38 and another one of 45.
Last night, the firefighters of Chisinau’s Botanica district fought to bring a fire that started in a transformer under control. The flames were about 20 meters in height.
The 1,916 fires that happened in Moldova so far this year claimed 174 lives. Five of the victims were children.
