Fourteen young people awarded for results achieved in science and arts

The 14 laureates of the Youth Prizes in Literature and Arts received awards of 5,000 to 15,000 lei, Info-Prim Neo reports. The jury selected 10 young persons that will get the municipal prize (5,000 lei – e.n.), Tatiana Nagnibeda-Tverdohleb, the head of General Education Division, said during the award ceremony. “There were presented rather interesting works, especially in science and literature,” she added. Another four persons who participated in the national contest won prizes of 15,000 lei and by a medal. Marian Starcea, the head of the jury, said the works focus on real values, the young contenders presenting very interesting and innovative things. “We have many talented young people in all the fields. It was nice to find new and original ideas in these works.” The wife of Valeriu Boboc, who died as a result of the April protest, was also awarded 15,000 lei. Natalia came to the festivity together with Valeriu’s father, Victor Boboc. Prime Minister Vlad Filat said the family will also receive an apartment. “Let Communism disappear together with my son’s death,” said Victor Boboc. Winner Viorica Ela-Caraman, editor-in-chief of the journal “Science and Culture”, said she worked on the presented work for three years. ”I received the municipal prize for a volume of essays that had been published in the journal during three years. The festivity was organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sport in partnership with the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Culture and the Culture Division of the Chisinau City Hall.
