Free access to cadastral information on the Internet

The Agency for Land and Cadastre has launched a service enabling Internet users to obtain graphical cadastral information for free, just one month after it launched a similar electronic service which releases some of the documents confirming ownership, Info-Prim Neo reports. The service enables interested parties, in particular local authorities, businesses and individual owners, to verify the accuracy of the documents that confirm ownership over real estate. “It is very important to have access to graphical cadastral information before venturing into any transaction with the respective property. It is important to verify if it matches the data of the Real Estate Register. This way we can avoid errors in authorizing contracts at the Cadastre Office”, said Vasile Grama, the director of the Agency for Land and Cadastre. The Agency for Land and Cadastre recommends real estate owners and potential buyers to verify the existence of graphical data and the location of the object they own or intend to buy. If there is no such data or the object is located incorrectly, the situation must be clarified with the territorial cadastre offices.
