Journalist Galina Lungu is the person whose soul accommodated a whole world. She was full of optimism and dedication. She was the woman, wife and mother who dedicated herself to the family and her work. Galina was a beautiful, passionate woman who was always smiling. This is how her colleges, friends and relatives remember her, Info-Prim Neo reports. Radio Moldova director Alexandru Dorogan, a family friend and coworker, said that Galina Lungu was a special woman who loved a lot her husband and children. She was a successful reporter who was always in search of events and had her own sources who provided her with information. Info-Prim Neo was often quoted mainly due to her news stories. “This is Galina Lungu whose soul accommodated a whole world,” said Alexandru Dorogan. Former Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Victor Osipov, who worked with Galina Lungu at the municipal TV channel EuroTV Chisinau, said he was lucky to have her in his live. “Galina Lungu was an exceptional journalist who always smiled and emitted kindness and light,” he said. “I'm very sorry that she departed this life. She was a correct journalist who was critical in her articles when necessary, but never mean,” said the head of Centru district Vladimir Sarban. He also said that she supported him a lot when he was under arrest. Former colleague Ecaterina Mitin-Stratan, producer at Publika TV channel, said that Galina Lungu was like a mother in the team where she worked. “It is hard for me to speak about the not-living Galina as she was an extraordinary colleague and a good friend. God rest her soul,” she stated. Journalist Viorica Mija said she saw Galina Lungu last time on April 7, 2009, in the Great National Assembly Square. “She was crying with tears of happiness and said she would like to hug all the young people who took to the streets to demand changes. I think she passed away hopeful that things will change,” said Viorica Mija. Galina Lungu suffered from a merciless disease and died on January 23. A group of priests led by Ioan Ciuntu officiated at the funeral service held at Saint Teodora de la Sihla Church on January 25. She was buried at the Central Cemetery located on Armeneasca St. In the January 24 meeting, the heads of the Chisinau City Hall's divisions and other officials observed a two-minute silence in honor of Galina Lungu. Galina Lungu worked for a long time for Info-Prim Neo as well as for Antena C, Euro TV Chisinau, and Capitala.
