Gas and heating rates could rise, unlike electricity price
The National Energy Regulatory Agency (ANRE) will hold a meeting on Friday, May 14, to consider utilities' request for raising gas, heating and electricity rates.
Sources within ANRE have told Info-Prim Neo the draft decision on the adjustment of the gas price provides for a 14 percent rise on average. If ANRE adopts the decision on Friday, a monthly consumption of up to 30 cubic meters of gas will be rated 4.1 lei per cubic meter, a 0.53 lei increment from 3.57 lei at present. Beyond the 30 cu.m limit, the rate will be 4.53 lei, from 3.99 (+0.54) lei at present.
Users serviced by the heating utility CET-Nord will pay 911 lei per Gcal, as opposed to 786 (+125) lei at present. District heating users in Chisinau will pay 821 lei per Gcal, as opposed to 699 (+122) lei at present.
The same sources said electricity wouldn't rise in price at least until the end of the year.
