The new natural gas tariffs for 2018 will be made public on March 16. The Administration Board of the National Agency for Energy Regulation is to hold a public meeting, IPN reports.
In the last week’s debate, representatives of the Agency said the license holders working in the field asked to raise the gas transportation and distribution tariffs. Given the relevant calculations and the fact that the purchase price of gas decreased (to US$ 178 per thousand cubic meters) as well as the evolution of the exchange rate, the supplier SA “Moldovagaz” proposed a tariff for consumers of 4,914.97 lei per thousand cubic meters, by 630 lei or 11.4% lower than the current tariff of 5,545 lei.
The representatives of SA “Moldovagaz” said the 20.3% decline in the tariff suggested by the National Agency for Energy Regulation does not cover the investments made by the company in 2016-2017.
The public meeting of the Agency’s Administration Board will take place at 90 Columna St in Chisinau starting at 10am.
