The General Assembly of Prosecutors set for February 23 was put off for a week. A decision to this effect was approved by the Superior Council of Prosecutors (SCP) on Tuesday, IPN reports.
SCP chairman Dumitru Obada said it was previously decided that the meeting will take place online and IT specialists recommended a postponement so as to ensure the continuity of the technical process and the functioning of the online platform. Meanwhile, by the end of the week, the reports by the Prosecutor General’s Office and the Superior Council of Prosecutors will be published and will be debated at the Assembly, including the priorities for 2024.
Thus, the General Assembly of Prosecutors was scheduled for February 29, 9 a.m.
The General Assembly of Prosecutors was last convened on December 22, when the new members of the Superior Council of Prosecutors were elected. That convocation was succeeded about three years after the last meeting. During the pandemic, the prosecutors could not meet due to restrictions. Subsequently, they waited for the initiation of a mechanism to assess the integrity of all candidates for SPC member.
