Valentin Fyodorov was appointed head of the General Inspectorate for Migration. He was presented to the team on Monday by Minister of Internal Affairs Adrian Efros, IPN reports.
The minister stressed that the appointment of Valentin Fyodorov aims to strengthen the team, increase the prestige of the institution and boost confidence in the competent authority both nationally and internationally.
Valentin Fyodorov said that the priorities of his mandate as head of the Inspectorate include improving the operational processes of the institution, ensuring pro-active communication with foreigners in the Republic of Moldova and increasing the trust and satisfaction of the beneficiaries with the provided services.
The appointment of the new head of the General Inspectorate for Migration comes after the former chief was dismissed as a result of an investigation ordered in the context of irregularities in the asylum application file of the Turkish citizen who was murdered in July in Chisinau. The person who directly dealt with the case and two other employees of those investigated in the meantime tendered their resignations.
