Gheorghe Vrabie's desirable peak

Plastic artist Gheorghe Vrabie, who is the author of Moldova's coat of arms, set up a personal exhibition at the Exhibitions Center “Constantin Brancusi” in Chisinau themed “Desirable Peak”. The exhibit contains over 300 works: book graphic works, easel graphics, monumental and heraldic decorative art. “These works represent human beings' capacity to come closer to divinity, when a thought appears in your mind and you start to create” Gheorghe Vrabie said at the opening. According to the painter, the creation of these symbols that remain a treasure for every nation is based on impulses and feelings. Gheorghe Vrabie designed Moldova's coat of arms and the national currency. The artist said that more than 100 authors from a number of countries made over 150 models of coats. “It was the most difficult contest in my life as my initial work was not approved by the scientists. I was not sure of my victory. But I was lucky and I won,” he said. Colleagues, friends and relatives came to congratulate the artist on the occasion of the opening of the exhibition. “He is now one of the best graphic artists. His works are of an incontestable value and unique. He is a great personality of our culture,” said Tamara Macovei, Doctor of Science of the Academy of Sciences' Cultural Patrimony Institute. Ghenadie Jalba, the president of the Plastic Artists Union of Moldova, said that when they were students they used to visit exhibitions together and his talent was obvious even then. “He is an exceptional artist. He planned this exhibition long ago as he wanted to display the result of his works and he managed to,” Jalba said. Plastic artist Liviu Hancu said that Gheorghe Vrabie is a figure who impresses you with intelligence and wisdom. “His wisdom and talent combine harmoniously. He is a en enigma as he seems to tell everything, but tells nothing leaving the people to perceive the message themselves,” Hancu said. There were also exhibited ten flags made by Gheorghe Vrabie: Moldova's flag, the flag of the municipality of Chisinau, the flag of the Customs Control Department, etc. Gheorghe Vrabie had personal exhibitions in the Romanian towns of Iasi, Bucharest, Cluj, Miercurea Ciuc and in the Ukrainian city of Odessa.
