Government approves amendments to Law on Civil Protection Service

The Cabinet approved amendments to the Law on the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service, introducing new relevant notions, IPN reports.

The notions include emergency, qualified first aid, paramedical personnel and others and were introduced in connection with the implementation of the crossborder project concerning the work of
the Mobile Emergency Service for Resuscitation and Extrication (SMURD).

The document contains new provisions concerning the social protection of the employees of the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service and of the members of their families, with reference to mandatory health insurance, the right to maternity leave, childcare allowance, and special ranks.

The bill is to be examined and adopted by Parliament.
