Social bread could be placed on the market from next week, at more accessible prices and of a better quality. For this to happen, the Government must offer support to resolve a number of issues. This was one of the subjects discussed in the meeting of Prime Minister Pavel Filip with Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry Eduard Grama, director of the bakery complex “Franzeluta” Boris Andros, and director of the sunflower oil producer “Floarea Soarelui – Balti” Stela Ostrovetski, IPN reports.
According to the Government’s press service, the meeting forms part of a series of consultations with decision makers of producers and service providers initiated by the Premier with the aim of identifying the best solutions for supporting the economy and overcoming the economic crisis, without costs for the population and the state-owned and private companies.
“It is important to devote attention to the basic necessities and see what problems the producers face and how the Government can assist them. We are ready to help the producers to solve the problems, but these, for their part, should optimize costs and should not aim to have super-profit in this difficult period,” stated Pavel Filip, noting that the Government is ready to help the two producers to overcome the problems.
Boris Andros asked the Premier, among others, to help unblock the Polish loan and to be lent wheat from the state reserve so that they could return it from the new crop.
Stela Ostrovetski noted that the vegetable oil industry faces a shortage of raw material, which is exported in large quantities, but, if the Government supports the producers, these could decrease oil prices.
