The Government is looking for a new place for the Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office.
“After careful evaluation, we found that two other institutions cannot be moved from the old General Prosecutor’s Office building, given all the specialized equipment they use. But together we will find an optimal and suitable place for the new employees of the Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office”, the Government’s spokesperson Daniel Vodă told reporters.
As decided by Parliament in February, the APO staff was increased by 54 to 198 staffers. In March, the intention to move the APO to one of the buildings administrated by the State Pedagogical University was met with public disapproval. A month ago it was reported that the APO could be located in a building on M.G.B. Bodoni Street in Chisinau, which currently houses the National Integrity Authority and the Anti- Money Laundering Service.
