Government will allocate money for conserving Turkish bath of Orheiul-Vechi
The works to conserve the Turkish bath situated on the territory of the cultural-natural reserve Orheiul-Vechi will be finished. The Government decided to allocate 120,000 lei from its reserve fund for the purpose, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Minister of Culture Boris Focsa said the works were started with the financial support of the U.S. Embassy in Moldova, but more money is needed to complete them.
Prime Minister Vlad Filat instructed the Ministry of Culture to present a strategy for conserving the entire patrimony located on that territory. “The tourists are surprised at what we have. We now do not have the necessary money, but will have them. We must do our utmost to prevent the destruction of this treasure,” he stated.
The Premier requested that the relevant authorities ban the access of vehicles to the archeological complex. The Ministry of Transport is to allot money from the road fund for repairing a section of the road going to Orheiul-Vechi.
