Grenade discovered at construction site
A grenade dating from the Second World War was found at a building site in Chisinau.
Dorina Cruc, spokeswoman for the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service, has told Info-Prim Neo that the F-1 grenade was unearthed during embankment works at a construction site located on Rahmaninov St in Buiucani district.
The workers called the rescuers. Employees of the Chisinau Exceptional Situations Division and the operative group of the Police Commissariat arrived at the scene shortly afterward. They called the bomb squad of the National Army that took the grenade to the range in Bulboaca.
According to Dorina Cruc, 220 explosive devices dating back to World War II have been discovered in different areas of Moldova since the start of this year.
