The Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development has announced the launch of an evaluation process for the National Program to Develop Growth-Pole Cities (2021-2027) by a team of local experts.
The assessment is to be completed by March 2025, with an evaluation report and a roadmap to be produced in the process. Based on the experts’ conclusions and recommendations, the National Program will be adjusted and aligned with the new national interventions and the European Cohesion Policy.
The National Program was approved in 2020 and aims to support the development of the first six pole cities in Moldova: Edineț, Soroca, Ungheni, Orhei, Cahul, and Comrat, plus adjacent rural areas, by implementing four specific objectives and a portfolio of projects for each of the cities, including the financial support of the National Regional and Local Development Fund.
