The disciplinary commission of the Moldovan Football Federation (FMF) held that the refereeing by Veaceslav Banari in the match Chisinau – Iskra Stal had been incompetent, Info-Prim Neo reports. In particular, referee Banari was blamed for not awarding Zimbru an obvious penalty in the 37th minute on the game. And despite satisfying Zimbru’s complaint on that, no punishment was imposed on the referee. The commission argued that a penalization would be too much, given that the failure to award that penalty was not decisive for the outcome of the game, with Zimbru winning 2:1 after all.
