The police commissariat of Hancesti district has launched the website www.politiahincesti.md, where there will be published information about the work of the commissariat, contact phones and data about offenses. For the time being, the site contains only five short films about the commissariat’s work. More information will be available in several weeks, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Commissioner of Hancesti, Lieutenant-Colonel Victor Moraru told a news conference that about 9 million lei was allocated for creating the website. Currently, it is only in Romanian, but in the future it will be also available in English and Russian.
“This website will enable us to broadly inform the public about the activities performed by the commissariat. It will also help identify more efficient mechanisms of cooperation between the police and the local public administration and will contribute to strengthening the partnership with civil society,” said Victor Moraru.
He also said that the information will be updated daily. “We will be fully transparent. Transparency is the key to success and I now see it in the commissariat,” said the Lieutenant-Colonel.
Colonel Chiril Motpan, head of the Ministry of the Interior’s press office, said the website ensures greater receptivity. “Such a move was made for the first time. We hope that other commissariats will follow this example,” he said.
Dorian Tasca, secretary of the Hancesti District Council, said the website will have a positive impact. “We hope that this instrument will be used not only to report on the accomplishments, but also to address the problems faced by the police and to identify joint solutions,” he stated.
Valentina Gac, executive director of the Hancesti Mayors’ Association, said the website will be an information and communication platform. “It is a good thing as society will have better access to information,” she said.
Tudor Ungureanu, head of the Veterans’ Council of Hancesti district, said the initiative is beneficial as it will help educate the young generation.
This is the first website launched by a district police commissariat.
