The head of the Rezina post office center Valeriu Amarfii was discharged from the post. In a communique, the Ministry of Information and Communication Technology says the dismissal decision was taken after a number of irregularities were identified in distributing financial assistance to veterans and war widows, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to the Ministry, it was established that the money was not distributed through post offices or taken home, as required, but handed over in envelopes during the May 9 festivities. It was also determined that Valeriu Amarfii broke the contract signed by the post office center and the district social assistance and family protection division at the request of the head of Rezina district Valeriu Ciorici. Similar investigations were conducted in other districts, but no irregularities were found.
