The October 6 hearing in the case of mayor of Orhei Ilan Shor was postponed at the request of the defense, IPN reports.

Prosecutor Andrei Baiesu said that Shor’s lawyers presented two applications – concerning the performance of an examination within the criminal case and concerning the replacement of the form of arrest. It’s not yet known what kind of examination is asked for. As to the replacement of the form of arrest, the lawyers invoked the fact that Ilan Shor was proposed as a trustworthy person in the election campaign and should be thus freed from house arrest. 

The next hearing was scheduled for October 11.

Ilan Shor was arrested on June 22 this year. He is accused of swindle and money laundering in a case concerning the robbing of Banca de Economii (Savings Bank).
