Heat advisory changes code to orange starting today

The State Hydro-Meteorology Service issued a code-orange heat advisory and an exceptionally high, class V, fire weather alert for the central districts of Moldova, covering the period July 3 through 8. Service director Ilie Boian has told Info-Prim Neo that starting today and until Sunday in central Moldova air temperatures will hit 36-37 degrees Celsius in daytime. A code-yellow heat advisory remains in effect during the same period for northern and southern Moldova, where high temperatures are expected to stand at around 33 degrees. “After July 8 we expect a drop in temperatures which would lower the alert level to code yellow for the central part of the country as well. In the period July 7-10 we also expect showers”, said Ilie Boian.
