The heating bills in January will be 40% less than in December, says Petru Gontea, the head of the Housing Direction of the Chisinau City Hall. He stated at the City Hall's staff meeting on Monday that decrease is due to the fact that the city consumed less heating during the gas crisis, Info-Prim Neo reports. Gontea added that the house managing companies have gathered some 8,200 files of people requiring heat compensations. At the same time, Labor Protection Agency chief Ala Supac said the number of registered unemployed rose 4 times for the last period. She believes most of them register in order to benefit of heat compensations. Now the price of the heat in Chisinau is 542 lei/Gcal. The households with less than 1450 lei per member can ask for a compensation of 40% of their heat bills. They have to lodge files with housing managing companies or to district offices.
