Heating charge for a part of Chisinau residents rose to 1 093 lei

The inhabitants of Codru town of Chisinau municipality and the persons living near the Chisinau Airport will pay 1 093 lei/Gcal for heat, as against 934 lei until now. The rise represents 17.1%, Info-Prim Neo reports. The new heating charge was approved in the October 19 meeting of the National Agency for Energy Regulation (ANRE). Codru and the area around the Chisinau Airport are supplied with heat by Apa-Canal Chisinau. The heating charges for the other end-users in Chisinau supplied with heat by Termocom SA will be approved in Friday’s meeting. SA Termocom purchases 75% of the heat supplied to end-users from the thermoelectric plants CETs. Earlier, the company’s director Mihail Cernei said the heating charge for the residents of Chisinau may be 1 045 lei/Gcal, up 16.4% from the current charge of 898 lei, being based on the tariff increases demanded by CETs. In Wednesday’s meeting of the ANRE, CET-1 announced that it identified possibilities of reducing some of the costs and the tariff on the heat supplied to Termocom will be by 50 lei lower. Initially, it asked for a tariff of 768.39 lei/Gcal. CET-2 said the initial charge of 613.35 lei/Gcal can be decreased by 14 lei. The ANRE’s Board of Directors urged the administration of the two thermoelectric plants to look for other possibilities of reducing the tariffs for end-users. “The charges for the consumers should be reasonable. This is possible if CET-1 and CET-2 analyze the situation not only from the angle of the corporate interests, but also of the common interest,” said the ANRE director general Victor Parlicov. The next meeting was set for Friday, October 21.
