Mayor of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca on October 22 signed an ordinance to start the heating season in all the public institutions and apartment buildings, Info-Prim Neo reports.
“The weather forecasts show the temperatures will not rise significantly the coming days and thus we decided to open the heating season in the municipality. In the morning I ordered to start connecting the buildings to the heating system,” said Dorin Chirtoaca.
There will be connected the buildings that paid at least 80% of the heat consumed the previous season and that signed a debt rescheduling timetable. “The blocks where the level of payments is under 80% will have to settle the debts if they want to be supplied with heat. The consumers will be connected to the heating system within 4 – 5 days,” said the mayor general.
As the previous years, the families on low incomes will benefit from compensations from the local budget. They will represent 40% of the heat bills. Those who have individual heating systems in the city and the suburbs will receive by 250 lei a month per household.
Dorin Chirtoaca said that if all the partners that supply heat had been more cooperative, the heat charge set by the National Agency for Energy Regulation at 987 lei/Gcal would have been lower – 950 or even 930 lei/Gcal.
The heating season for kindergartens and children’s hospitals was opened on October 17.
