The Moldovan Metropolitan Church will convey the Holy Fire from Jerusalem to Chisinau for the tenth time. According to the Metropolitan Church’s press service, a delegation of the Church will fly to Jerusalem on the morning of April 13 and will return in the evening of April 14, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The delegation will be headed by His Holiness Vladimir, Metropolitan Bishop of Chisinau and all Moldova. It will also include Bishop Sava, Archpriest Vadim Cheibas and Archpriest Veaceslav Spac. The delegation will take part in the requiem mass dedicated to Jesus and will come home after the Holy Fire starts burning.
The Holy Fire will be brought to the Metropolitan Cathedral “God's Birth” in Chisinau, from where it will be distributed to churches and monasteries all over Moldova. The travel expenses will be covered by the Government of Moldova.
The Holy Fire is the most renowned miracle in the world of Eastern Orthodoxy. It has taken place at the same time, in the same manner, in the same place every single year for centuries. No other miracle is known to occur so regularly and so steadily over time. It happens in the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem, the holiest place on earth, where Christ was crucified, entombed, and where He finally rose from the dead.
