Hundreds of members and sympathizers of PCRM stage march on Labor Day

Hundreds of members and sympathizers of the Communist Party (PCRM) marched from the Triumphal Arch up to the Academy of Sciences of Moldova on the occasion of the Labor or Workers Day. The march was followed by a meeting and a concert by Sergey Skachkov. In his speech, the leader of the PCRM Vladimir Voronin said that this day shows unity, consolidation and power, IPN reports.

The Communist leader stated that society over the last five years sustained losses, while the situation in the country worsened. The rulers robbed the country and brought the economy on the verge of collapse. But the PCRM was near the people and put up resistance to the government. In Parliament and on the street, the party showed that Moldova and its people deserve another destiny.

Communist MP Mark Tkaciuk said that during the last five years of democratic government, poverty, disappointment and fear in tomorrow entered every house. The possibility of leaving unhindered the country is the only benefit provided by the current government to the Moldovan people.

MP Galina Balmos said the PCRM will reopen the kindergartens, schools and hospitals. “The rulers say they don’t have money for pensions, salaries and scholarships, but we must stop this degradation and offer appropriate pensions and salaries. The young people must build the future at home,” she stated.

Lawmaker Anatolie Gorila said that Moldova returned to the 1990s owing to the current government. “The people do not trust the police and the legal system. We demand concrete reforms. We commit ourselves to fulfill all the promises from the electoral program,” he added.

According to the organizers, the event involved about 8,000 people. The police said yet the participants totaled approximately 4,000.
