A bell ringer from Vorniceni village of Straseni district and his wife died in a road accident on the way to the church yesterday morning. Traffic Police Division spokeswoman Dana Andronic has told Info-Prim Neo that the accident happened at about 5am. An Opel-Vectra driven by a 38-year-old man struck mortally the man and his wife aged 79 and 80 respectively. The driver did not stop to help. He was shortly identified by the police and arrested. This morning, a boy aged 17 has been admitted to the hospital with a nose trauma and a concussion. He was hit by a car on the Floresti-Soroca road. A VAZ truck overturned not far from Recea village of Rascani district. The driver aged 24 received minor injuries. Two persons were killed and five injured in five accidents that happened on the national roads on October 17. Another 27 accidents caused no victims. The traffic police fined 15 drivers for DUI.
